Greed turned disastrous for two buyers in Bakkhali, South 24 Parganas, as they fell prey to a scam offering gold at a remarkable fifty percent discount.

A buyer brought 3 lakh rupees for the deal but was robbed by armed miscreants upon arrival. The victim reported the incident to Fraserganj police immediately. In a commendable display of efficiency, police apprehended the culprits by tracking their mobile tower location to a hotel in Bakkhali.

Subsequent interrogation led to the confession of guilt by the arrested individuals, who also divulged information about their accomplices. The stolen money was recovered, and efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining suspects.The Kakdwip Sub-Divisional Court has sanctioned a five-day police custody for the arrested perpetrators, ensuring swift justice in the wake of this deceitful act.
